Pick the team and the work
Choose one project, a Jira admin, at least one person who logs time, and a separate approver. Agree on the report your team needs at the end of the week.
Before the first day
- Ask your Jira admin to install Daylight from the Marketplace.
- Enable approvals and choose weekly submissions.
- Assign the approver and team members.
- Configure the rates and project settings you need to check.
- Log one test entry and check that it appears in Jira.
During the week
Log time on the issues your team works on. Add useful notes. Review the weekly grid each day and correct any missing or inaccurate entries.
At the end of the period
- Review the timesheet and submit it.
- Have the approver review the submission.
- Try returning a period for a correction, then submit it again.
- Approve the completed period.
- Export the report and compare the hours and configured costs with your expected totals.
Decide what worked
Note which tasks were clear, where anyone needed help, and whether the CSV has the fields you need. Record the issues and differences that would prevent your team from using Daylight.
Email your findings to support@modul4r.com. Include the steps behind a problem and the expected result. Keep confidential client or employee data out of the feedback.
Trial pricing and your data
Daylight is free for Jira sites with up to 10 users. Larger sites have the standard 30-day Marketplace trial. This checklist uses one week of that period.
Pricing follows your Jira site’s user count. Read the monthly and annual pricing explanation before choosing a subscription.
Your time entries are native Jira worklogs. They remain in Jira if you uninstall Daylight. Period locking applies within Daylight.
