Daylight FAQ and Support

Is Daylight free?

Daylight is free for Jira sites with up to 10 users, with approvals and reports included. Paid subscriptions include all features and a 30-day free trial.

Atlassian bills by your Jira site's user count. Once your site has more than 10 users, the paid bill includes all users, including the first 10.

How does monthly pricing work?

Monthly pricing is graduated. Each rate applies to the users in that band.

Users in each bandMonthly rate per user
First 100US$2.50
Next 150 (101–250)US$2.00
Next 750 (251–1,000)US$1.50

Larger bands have lower rates. These paid rates apply to sites with more than 10 users.

For 150 users, the calculation is 100 × US$2.50 + 50 × US$2.00 = US$350/month.

How does annual pricing work?

Annual billing uses fixed user-count tiers with different boundaries from the monthly bands. You pay the yearly price for the tier that covers your Jira site.

For example, 150 users falls into the 101–200 tier at US$4,500/year. The annual quote uses that tier, rather than multiplying your current monthly total by 12.

All amounts are in US dollars. Rates and examples were checked on October 18, 2026. See the pricing explanation for more bands and examples. Use the Marketplace calculator for your site's current monthly or annual price.

Where is my time data stored?

Daylight runs on Atlassian Forge and writes time into Jira's own worklogs. The app sends no time data to external servers. App data stays within Atlassian and your data-residency region.

What happens if I uninstall Daylight?

Your native Jira worklogs remain in Jira. Daylight's settings and metadata are separate from those worklogs. The privacy policy explains app data retention.

Who can see my time?

Jira permissions govern access to your worklogs. In Daylight, you see and edit your own timesheet. Approvers and admins can access team reports according to their roles and team assignments.

Do approval locks apply outside Daylight?

Period locking blocks edits within Daylight. Direct edits in Jira and edits through other apps follow their own permissions. Your Jira admin can configure those permissions to match your review process.

Daylight records those outside edits. A submission changed after it was sent shows a changes after submit tag, and Settings → Audit log lists each change.

Can Daylight track vacation and holidays?

Yes. Your admin picks a Jira project for time that is not on an issue, such as Vacation and Sick. Holiday sets and work schedules set each person's expected hours, so a holiday never shows as a missed day.

Does Daylight work with my Jira plan?

Daylight supports Jira Cloud. Core time tracking and reporting work with Jira Free, Standard, and Premium.

Can I use Daylight on mobile?

Daylight supports Jira's mobile web interface. There is no separate Daylight mobile app.

How does Daylight compare with Tempo?

Daylight includes timers, timesheets, approvals, rates, budgets, and CSV reports in one app. Tempo offers a broader product family, including additional integrations, reporting products, and capacity planning.

Compare Daylight with Tempo for the feature differences and migration checks.

Can I import from Tempo?

Yes. Export your logged time from Tempo before you uninstall it:

  1. In Tempo, open Reports → Logged Time and set the date range.
  2. Select Export → Download Raw Data → CSV.
  3. In Daylight, open Settings → Import from Tempo and upload the file.

Daylight reads the file in your browser and shows a preview before it saves anything. It finds the Jira copy of each Tempo entry and stores the real person, the description, the client account, billable hours and work attributes beside it. Jira itself does not change, and one Undo import removes everything that import saved.

Time logged in the Tempo screens shows in Jira under the Tempo app, so Jira only lets Tempo edit it. In Daylight those entries carry a From Tempo tag and stay read-only.

Is my time data sold or used to train AI?

No. Daylight sends no time data outside Atlassian and has no analytics on your time entries.
